Sampler Firmer is HERE!!!

We’re incredibly pleased and excited to release “Sampler Firmer,” our amplitude-threshold driven sampler instrument. Now, if you think that’s a mouthful, then hopefully this video will make some sense out of all that gibberish.

We were approached with the idea for Sampler Firmer by Christopher Botta (of The Cellar and Point… Seriously, click that link! Yeah, not exactly a bunch of light weights!). Proof of concept lead to a functional Max for Live pack that we strongly feel should be available to all those who are into these sorts of live-sampling/sequencing shenanigans.

Sampler Firmer is available HERE.

NOTE: This is for Live 9 / Max 6 & 7 ONLY! Also, the sampler device itself creates two files with each new buffer: a .wav (or .aiff) and a .json. Both these files will need to be stored together in the same location.

Please feel free to contact with any questions you may have.

Enjoy responsibly!

Nathan Crepeault, graduate of New York University’s music theory and composition program, is an avid Max for Live user and bassist. Based in Austin,TX, Nathan has been teaching Max for Live with the Bit Voltage crew since his arrival from New York City in early 2011. Nate uses Max for Live to augment Live’s capabilities as a looping tool, alter the functionality of his control surfaces, and tastelessly glitch innocent audio signals.
